Tame Impala
I Had an absolute blast creating this design for one of my favorite bands, Tame Impala back in 2015 for their US Tour. The design brief only required that no designs included actual Impalas.

As a designer and a fan of psychedelic music, designing a concert poster for one of my favorite bands in the genre is an exciting challenge. To create a poster that accurately captures the essence of the band and evokes a surreal feeling similar to seeing them live was my main goal.

I tried to go in a more abstract and unexpected direction with my choice in color and composition and wanted to invoke a feeling of dreaming or peering into an unstable, alternate universe.

Attention to Detail
Since these posters were being sold at the Columbus, Ohio show we wanted to create something super impactful for the fans to memorialize the special night.
I worked with Pen and Screen Printing in Portland, Oregon to produce these gorgeous 6 color, 18 x 24 screen prints. Their care and attention to this special project made all the difference in the final product.

This was one of those great design experiences where the client liked the initial design and there were almost no changes to the original concept. I believe all Kevin asked was for the name to be thicker.

The poster sold out that night and I still get emails asking for copies to this day. I also randomly discovered AliExpress was ripping off this design and selling it but they certainly aren't as nice as the real thing!
Such a fun and enjoyable design experience!
