Pinoke is different from everything else on this page.
I started sculpting him while my mom was sick in the hospital. Growing up, she called me “Pinocchio,” or “Pinoke” for short, and I wanted to make this goofy little version of the character as a gift for her.
I was working on him while she was sick as a way of making something for her and letting her know I was thinking about her.
I didn’t get to finish him before she passed.
Afterward, I went back and completed the sculpture, then 3D printed him and turned him into an actual working puppet.
He’s become a very small, very strange and very sweet reminder of her.
And probably one of the most meaningful things I’ve ever made.
