Sculpting Colossus turned into an unexpected lesson in lighting.
A character whose skin reflects virtually everything around him can very quickly become either visually confusing or completely flat. Getting the segmented metallic arms, face and classic silhouette right was only half the job. The other half was figuring out how to light him so all of that work could actually be seen.
He’s also always been one of my favorite X-Men, so getting that classic version right mattered to me.
