Swamp Thing

Vegetation, without sculpting every leaf.

All sculpture

Mass over detail. The trick with anything overgrown is convincing the eye it is looking at a thousand small things while only ever building a few dozen.

The problem

Detail is a trap here. Sculpt every frond and you get a bush. The read has to come from the big silhouette first, with the surface doing far less work than it feels like it should.

What worked

Committing to the mass early and refusing to open it back up, no matter how tempting the close pass got.
